Enhancing the Quality of Life

Some of the same issues that cause negative environmental impacts in Newton, such as poorly-maintained streets and overflowing garbage cans in our parks also negatively affect our general quality of life. In addition to these issues that were discussed in Section B, we proposed the following initiatives to address quality of life concerns raised by Newton residents:

1) Improving Transportation Resources while Reducing Traffic Congestion;

2) Improving Pedestrian, Wheelchair and Bicycle Access;

3) Keeping our Parks and Open Spaces Clean;

4) Maintaining our Infrastructure and Streets;

5) Protecting Public Safety; and

6) Protecting and Expanding Community Assets and Amenities.
