Field Repair & Renovation

For more than a decade, Ken has been a strong advocate for the development of quality new playing fields at Newton South High School and for improved field maintenance throughout the community. Ken sponsored multiple budget resolutions requesting that the Mayor allocate funds to fix the Newton South fields, as well as a Capital Improvement Plan amendment, requesting funds for an engineering study of the site. Several of these resolutions were adopted by the Board of Aldermen unanimously, but were ignored by the Mayor for years.

For the last two years, Ken has worked closely with the co-chairs of the NEWTURF Initiative to develop plans for the creation of quality new fields at Newton South.
