Historic Preservation

Ken has been a strong advocate for the preservation of Newton's historic resources during his sixteen years as an Alderman. Ken helped to build consensus for the establishment of historic districts in Newtonville and Auburndale and was the lead sponsor of the proposal to implement the Community Preservation Act (CPA) in Newton.

Ken also worked on legislation that strengthened the City's ability to protect historic structures against demolition and has been a strong advocate for the Newton History Museum at the Jackson Homestead.
